Mar. 03, 1955 - Norewegian Liner Aground off Plymouth Hoe. As seen From the Air: Never before has a liner come so close to Plymouth Hoe. So close, in fact, that the 6, 269 ton Venus is on the rooks. Twice yesterday tugs tried to refloat her. This morning's attempt left Venus as seen in this picture from the air. Five Thousand people watched as tuge tried again last night- the liner lifted but remained fast on the rocks. Heavy gear and cargo is being removed he give her a better chance of being reflated at the next high tide
