Sep. 09, 1955 - British warships sail for Cyprus. The wooderidge Have at Chatham. Seven British to join the Mediterranean Fleet at Malta next month have had their sailing date advanced because of the trouble in Cyprus. Among them is the Woodbridge Haven ( 1, 652 tons ) - a frigate type headquarters ship left Chatham this afternoon. Six Minesweepers are leaving Harwich later today, The vessels are to strengthen the forces already engared in preventing arms smuggling to the island.
