Sep. 14, 1956 - Egypt Frees Greek Ship - Bound for Israel. Held for Three Months at Port Said. The Greek ship Panagia a vessel of 400 tons, under charter to Israel, arrived at Haifa recently from Port Said where she was arrested on May 26th. by the Egyptians and held for more than three months. She was going through the Suez - bound from Haifa to Eilat on the Gulf of Akaba. After being stopped at Port Said an Egyptian Police Watch was posted and the crews were not allowed to land, or to bathe in the Sea.
