Nov. 18, 1955 - R.A.F. In Survival Tests Training At The Thorney Islands: R.A.F. Pilots taking part ion a Survival - test - dived into the water - wearing their usual kit - at Thorney Island, Hants this morning - and then they inflated their single seat yellow dinghies and got into survival suitsm making themselves comfortable to await rescue. It is part of the Royal Air Force training in various methods of survival under varying conditions - in the sea - the jungle and in the Arctic. Part of the training includes about 36 hours in dinghies in the English Channel.
