Dec. 12, 1955 - H.M.S. Apollo On Visit To London. H.M.S. Apollo arrived at Battle Bridge Tier this evening, on a visit to London. This was the Apollo's second visit to London. She came also in December last year and was the first Home Fleet flagship to sail so far up the Thames since the end of World War 1, and possibly since the return of the century. On this occasion, as Admiral Sir Micahel Denny, G.C.B. C.B.E, D.S.O. but on this occasion it will be one of Admiral Denny's last duties as Commander-in-chief, Home Fleet. he is due to be succeeded by Vice Admiral Sir John Eccles, K.C.B. K.C.V.O.
