Jul. 31, 1956 - Egyptian Warship At Portsmouth: One of two Egyptian warships at Portsmouth - awaiting date of her journey to Egypt is the Al Quaher (The Victor) - a 1, 700 ten destroyer once our famous Arctic convey leader MYNGS. The vessel is one of three war-surplus vessels sold to Egypt by the Government. Now, in view of the Suez Canal situation - it is not known when she will leave for Egypt. Photo shows Al Quaher at Whale Island, Portsmouth, awaiting her journey to Egypt
