Sep. 09, 1957 - United Kingdom Schooner taken in tow by Russian Vessel off South Coast of Ceylon: A British schooner the Adyyatul Rahman which is owned by the Unite Kingdom Transport Ministry was caught in a storm and radioed for help in the high seas off the south coast of Ceylon recently. The first vessel to answer the S.O.S. call was a Russian vessel the Ilyamechnikov which took the schooner in two into the safety of Colombo Harbour.
