Jan. 01, 1958 - A woman as captain of a boat on the Rhein. For the first time a woman was getting the permission to lead a person - motor-boat on the Rhein. In Bad Godesberg the examin of the board for water -and shipping questions, were taking this really not common examination and were able to give the permission for leading a person - motor - boat to Katharina Kaufer (Katharina Kaufer), 41 years of age. Mrs. Kaufer (Kaufer), who already as sailor has shipped on the Rhein and the Mosel, didn't do this typical men's work only for jov, she wanted to keep the boat going for her 9 years old little son, after the husband and father had died in the last year. In 12 years she will give him the rudder
