Boats - Sailing - Ships

Mar. 03, 1958 - Family Yacht doubles as trailer: A British exhibit at the Brussels International Exhibition (opening in Belgium on April 17th) is a 26 foot family sailing cruiser which, towed behind the car on the way to the water, can be used as a trailer. Constructed of hotmould wood-veneer, named Atalantas, introduced last year, the six - berth cruisers have already won wide popularity in places as far apart as the United States and East Africa. The retractable twin keels make them self-righting, navigable in 18 inches of water and easily beachable. Photo shows Atalanta under sail
