Oct. 10, 1958 - INDIAN NAVY'S NEW FRIGATE LAUNCHED AT COWES.. COCONUT TAKES PLACE OF CHAMPAGNE.. The I.N. KUTHAR - new frigate of the Indian Navy wwas launched at Cowes today by MRS. USHA RAJWADE wife of the Military Adviser to the H.C. for India in the United Kingdom. A coconut took the place of the more unusual champagne..The vessel is 310 ft. long and has a beam of 33ft.
