Feb. 02, 1959 - They want their ships to be bigger - so they cut then in half and make center extension: Two ships of the Oranje Line of the Netherlands are to be made longer by 14.26 metres. They are the Prins Willem George Frederik and the Prins William V'. The ships are in use on the Europe - Montreal - Chicago route - and the extensions are to be made because with the opening of new canals and sluices - larger ships can be employed. Both ships are to be cut right through the center - taken apart and the center piece filled in..
