Boats - Sailing - Ships

Mar. 03, 1959 - Relaxing pause - or ship cemetery: The world shipping is at a crisit. Also 88 German ships are lying idly at the poles in Hamburg Waltershof, modern freighters and tanks with nearly half million tons load capacity. The old sea-men do not like this picture, they still remember the time in the thirties, when Waltershof became famous as ship-cemetery. Experts think that also the next few months things will not be too rosy, and every sea man is glad if he has a sailing ship under his feet. Photo shows the ship lying place in Hamburg-Waltershof/Germany
