1959 - To Cross The Atlantic By Motor Launches: Two American Air Force officers will leave Lowestoft on Saturday to cross the Atlantic in small motor launches. Lt. CCL. Richard Willsie, from Long Beach, California will be in his launch Lighting - and a crew of two, and Major Howard Reynolds will be in an ex-Admirlaty barge, Saralinda, with a crew of three U.S. Servicemen.
