Aug. 08, 1958 - Britain Welcomes The Nautilus As She Arrives At Portland Harbour- The United States nuclear-powered submarine Nautilus arrived at Portland Harbour this afternoon, at the end of her voyage which took her under the North Pole. Thousands of holiday makers cheered and ships sirens sounded a welcome as the submarine approached the harbour.
