Jul. 07, 1959 - H.M.S. President goes for a refit. Famous London Landmark goes for overhaul.: The famous Victoria Embankment landmark H.M.S. President - left her mooring this morning for Chatham where she is to undergo a two months refit. The vessel is the floating headquarters of the London Division Royal Naval Reserve. Her mast has been dismantled and lies on her deck - so she can pass beneath Blackfrr's Bridge. Photo shows H.M.S.
