Jun. 06, 1959 - Strange but true; A few days ago, the New York harbour had a strange visitor high above the buildings at the Brooklyn Waterfront the black bow of a foreign ship rose. At the front a swastika which puzzled many. A german passenger ship? a troup tansporter? No. It is the Indian Freighter Jaladhanya loading goods for Bombay. The Keystone reporter would have liked to have spoken with the captain, but unfortunately he was at lunch. But our reporter had an interview with paymaster D.K. Abraham left and the 3rd officer S.K. Puri.Very friendly, they answered a few questions; The Jaladhanya was built about 2 years ago in Luebeck?Germany and delivered from the Flender wharf to the Scindia Steamship Company Ltd. Bombay/India. It has 6527 gross registered tons. The swastika is an Indian symbol, thousands of years old. The ship will soon visit also Humburg or Bremen
