Feb. 26 Underwater T/V equipment flown from the U.K. to Malta is to be used by the Royal Navy in the identification of wreckage of the Comet aircraft on the sea bed off Elba. These pictures show the erection of the equipment in the Royal Fleet Auxiliary Sea Salvor at Malta. The camera, by Pye, enclosed in a casing devised by the Royal Naval Scientific Service and made by Ides, of Kingston, is capable of use at 1, 000 ft. Weighing 7 cwt. it is lighter than the equipment used in H.M.S. Reclaim for identifying the sunken submarine H.M.S. Affray Mr. G.G. Malta to supervise the installation. he is a Belfast man. Electrician's Mate J. Revie, and assistant experimental officer from the Admiralty research laboratory, now doing his National Service, was also flown from the U.K. to help.
