Feb. 26 NEW GERMAN SPEED-BOAT TESTED ON THE BERLIN HAVEL-RIVER. Johannes Hertz - a Western Germany boat designer - has just completed an entirely new style speed-boat - which is claimed to be sensationally fast. The boat's great sped is said to be possible because of the steel wings - which can be seen as the boat lifts high in the water - and it is claimed that it only uses about half the quantity of gasoline as that by normal speedboats of the same power. The boat is made of mahogany and is fitted with a normal 12 Cyliner-Porteche-motor. It is 6 metres long; 1.72 metres wide and its speed is about 100 km p.h. The craft is seen during tests on the Lanka -Werft at Havel River, West Berlin
