Feb. 26 A new class of patrol boats believed to be the fastest warships in the world today, is beige introduced into Britain's Royal Navy. Intended for operations against shipping in coastal waters, powered by three marine Proteus gas turbine engines developed from those used in Britannia airliners. the new vessels have hulls of welded aluminum members with mahogany planking sheathed below the waterline. picture shows Brave Borderer, first of the new class, on her trials in the English channel when she exceeded 50 knots.
