Feb. 26 American sailing training-ship Eagle back at its native-town Hamburg: The American training-ship Eagle came back to Hamburg where it was open to the public during three days. The ship that had been launched as Horst Wessel from the Blohm+ Voss dockyard n 1936, was given to the American coast guard in 1946. With all her sails set, the Eagle has a sailing capacity of 1975 square meters. She is 90 meters long and the displacement of water amounts to 1784 tons. She is accompanied by the frigate Ingham which was built in the same year and also belongs to the American coast guard
