Mar. 22 A new Giant Cunarder takes shape: The birth of a new liner is a complex and long drawn out process, involving thousands of workers and engaged on a specialist job. John Browns shipyards at Glasgow are renowned for having constructed many a well known liner, and from their slipway now occupied by the new Cunarder, the famous Queens have been launched. The new liner has been under construction since 1965 and will be completed by 1968 November 1968. So far 60000 tons and steel have been installed and many more will be required before completion date.When our pictures were taken 1, 200 workers were working on the the new Cunard Liner at that particular time, though the overall number of people engaged on the construction of this new giant British liner is far more.
