Rough seas foil Atlantic Survival tests.: Two groups of Naval Volunteers has a really rough time in Atlantic over the week-end when the ocean turned its vicious worst on five-day survival tests from the destroyer Garron 200 miles off the West Coast of Ireland. The first group entered the water on Saturday - and had to be taken out ninety minutes later - when their raft was made unseaworthy by the battering seas. On Sunday a second crew entered the water aboard on Oval canopied Admiralty Type raft - which survived the battering water O.K. byt the destroyer captain decided to take them out - as it was bad policy to risk the lives of the men in such seas. The original idea was for the men to spend five days aboard the rafts - existing on minimum rations - for testing their reactions against boredom - fatigue and shrt rations.
