Feb. 29 Who Says Young Can't Take A Tiger For Walks..Chelsea People Have long been used to being though of as a bit different, perhaps, and artist John McKay is no exception. In fact, he's not at all worried when people stop and states as he's taking his pet Tiger for a walk from his home in Crompton Court. But it's no animal the ex-army officer is trailing on a lead. Tiger is a ten-foot-long scale replica of a 4, 400 ton battleship, riding on a sixteen-wheel trolley, that John is taking to the Round Pond in Kensington Gardens. HMS Tiger, to give her correct name, weights two-and--a-half hundred weight, and was built by McKay in twenty week to his own design, which is in advance of that of the last battleship in service with the Royal Navy: HMS Vanguard, which went to the breaker's yard in 1960. John McKay's ambition is to build a whole fleet of model warships: an aircraft carrier, two cruisers, two battleships and six deatroyers. All of which, like HMS Tiger, will be radiocontrolled by builder McKay. He hopes his ministure navy will be in battle order by May of next year.Meanwhile, he'll be continuing taking his Tiger for walks, and amusing both childern and adults- but we're not too sure about the swans on the Round Pond - as he purses his fascinating pastime. Good morning, Admiral
