Apr. 05 Jets Complete Trials On First Angled Deck Carrier: Jet fighters of the British Royal Navy's Fleet Air Arm have recently completed a series of trials on the angled flight deck of the American aircraft carrier Antietam, the first ship to be fitted with this feature. A British Invention, the angled deck, which is now being developed simultaneously in the United States and Britain, enables an aircraft carrier to land the most modern planes more rapidly and with greater safety.
