Feb. 26, 1960 - Holiday ship Volkerfreundschaft started voyage to the Mediterranean Sea: On February 24th, 1960 the 12.400 tons ship started her maiden-voyage with 500 passengers aboard from Rostock to the Mediterranean Sea.
