Oct. 10, 1961 - German Yacht Arrives In Brest With Two Young Sailors Aboard: Captain Lost The Sylvia, a German yacht belonging to a wealthy Munich industrialist arrived in Brest with two young German sailors on board, yesterday. Uwe Bertling, 20, and Hans Schmidt, 19 told the police that the yacht was on the way from Genoa to Hamburg and that they had lost their bearings in the rocks of Ushant and were helped by a French escorter. They further said that the captain of the yacht Werner Godel, from Bremen, was lost on board another small yacht he purchased during their stop at Lisbon. OPS: The Sylvia in the harbor of Brest
