Jul. 07, 1961 - Former Boac Chief injured in Yacht explosion: Former Boac Chied Sir Gerard D'Erlanger was knocked unconscious by an explosion on his new 50, 000 yacht yesterday. The explosion was caused by a short-circuit in the batteries of the yacht, the Three Fishes, which was moored at Tagg's Island in the Thames near Hampton Court. Sir Gerard, 55, was taken to hospital and treated for a cut nose and a sprained ankle. Photo shows the Yacht after the explosion. Little damage was done by the blast
