1962 - Vickers Hovercraft for Scheduled Service: It has been announced recently that British United Airways are to operate the Vickers VA-3 on the world's first scheduled Hovercraft service between Hoylake and Rhyl this summer. The craft in now being tested at South Marston. Photo shows a stern view of the VA-3 showing the two rudders and propulsion engines at testing today
