Jun. 06, 1962 - Hover Bus Trials: The 25-ton Saunders-Roe N2 Hover Bus began operational trials today on the Solent off Cowes, Isle of Wight. It is the successor to the trail-blagging SRN1 which made the historic channel crossing. A trial bus service could be running soon with the N2 which travels at 80 mph on a foot high air cushion and seats 66 passengers.
