Boats - Sailing - Ships

Mar. 03, 1961 - The canal kickers. Leggers Daniel Jinks of middleweight, Cheshire (left) and Ernest wood, of stoke are two of the best loggers in the business. The job is to push a barge through a canal tunnel - and this is the way it's done. Not very often though. Nowadays most barges are mechanically propelled. This one is a special put on bowl from the pottery industry at stoke to Manchester. Danie and Ernest are seen legging the badger out of the 500 farad Brenton tunnel. on the Trent and Mersey cans near Norwich, Cheshire
