Feb. 23, 1963 - A new ship type: gravel-factory!. At the pier of Papenburg/East Frisian there is laying the 300 tons great ship Otto Pruss since 7 months, which should be rebuilt to a sea going gravel producing factory. The home harbour of this ship, which is besides of this special arrangement very seaworthy, wil be Luebeck. The district where this ship will be set in is the complete middle of the East Sea (Baltic). The gravel preparation plant of the Otto Pruss contains the dredgement till to the fine sorting. This swimming gravel factory is vast independent of the harbours. The ship is able to discharge via own conveying belts on the sea and also direct on the country in each wanted harbour.
