Feb. 02, 1963 - Britain to build a Nuclear Ship. expected to be 30, 000 ton - 1, 5000 passenger liner: The decision to build a nuclear ship was announced int he House of Commons yesterday and it is expected to be a 30, 000 tons - 1, 500 passenger liner. She will most probably have two reactors and speed of 24 knots. It is a joint enterprise. it was not disclosed how much the Government intends to invest and it is expected to be ready by 1967.
