Jun. 06, 1960 - Passenger boat of the future? Quite a surprise was this sledge-running boat which was to be seen in the Harbour of Kiel. It's the fifth of its type and has been built on an Italian warf in Messina like the other four. The Vingtor, that is the name of it belongs to a Norwegian shipping company. It will br transporting tourists between Stavanger and Bergen. The boat can take 100 lifts out of the water and it drives on vats. It has two Mercedes Benz-Motors of 1350 HP each and can go as fast as 65 km/h. It is said that the boat drives quietly even in rough see. Two of these seldge-running boats are in service in Venezuela, one in Finnland and one in Italy
