1964 - The Bubble Boat Makes It's Debut - On show today for time was the 60 knot speedboat which will glide through the water on a cushion of air bubbles. The best which has been designed by Mr. Basil Hurle - Hobbs over the past four years, has two skins the outer one is made of nylon material which is water-tight but not air-tight. Air is forced between the two skins, ans millions of tiny bubbles form on the outer skin lessening drug and increasing bouysnoy - a principle which Mr. Hurle - Hobs Copied from the Porpoise. The 15ft craft is powerd by a 1, 500 lb thrust jet and a car engines. Photo Shows. The Bubble Boat AMD-xi Awaits the launching at Dell Quay, Chichester today
