Jan. 01, 1964 - New Danish Life cabin': Boatswain Back Sorensen of Copenhagen has devised and built a new life cabin which he claims is an improvement an conventional life rafts. His cabin can be operated with cars, which enable it to get away from a wrecked ship immediately, then the sails can be set, and there is also an outboard motor. Another advantages is that the cabin, which can be hold 20 people, is closed in, giving additional protection and is built in steel.
