Liner ORIANA (40, 000 tons)-launched at Barrow-is now at Southampton preparing for her Maiden Voyage to Australia and North America. Th ORIANA is the biggest passenger liner ever launched in England- and coast 4, 000, 000..She will be commanded by CAPT. CLIFFORD EDGECOMBE..She is probably the most up-to-date passenger liner in the world today. All loading and unloading is carried out by automatic push-button control. She is able to receive TV programmers in all parts of the the world-whichever system is used plus her own closed circuit system..She is also equipped with a remarkable device which will enable her to bring herself. Crab-like alongside any quay, without the assistance of tugs-by means of pumps which forces water through the ship-below the water line from one side to the other automatically.
