Oct. 10, 1962 - Navy Men Escape From Submarine In Experiment: Royal Navy men escaped from the submarine Tiptoe lying 260ft. down on the Mediterranean seabed and made history for the Navy: no R.N. man has ever survived an ascent to the surface from more than 150 feet before. The team experimenting with new escape methods is from the submarine escape training school at Gooport. Hants.
