Aug. 08, 1965 - Just like the famous painting The Boyhood of Raleigh - It's story-time by Bob Manry: It was just like the famous painting The Boyhood of Raleigh - a grizzled, weatherbeaten mariner telling children tales of daring on the high seas as he sat by the shore. But it was four centuries after Raleigh - and the mariner was Bob Manry, who sailed solo in his tiny yacht TINKERBELLE, the smallest vessel to make the East-West Atlantic crossing. Manry was given a tremendous welcome when he landed at Falmouth, Cornwall, after his lone crossing of the Atlantic in Tinkerbelle from Falmouth, Massachusetts.
