Nov. 11, 1966 - Campbell Uses Sandbags in Bluebird: Donald Campbell installed a new engine in his speedboat Bluebird for his attempt to raise his water-speed record to 300 miles an hour, and found that Bluebird's nose would no longer rise out of the water, - so a couple of sandbags were slung across her storm - and proved successful. Campbell clokced 160 m.p.h on Coniston Water yesterday. Before the big day, of course, built in weights will replace the sandbags.
