Jul. 07, 1966 - Ships gather at Falmouth for tall ships race; Twenty eight sailing ships are now gathering at Falmouth, Cornwall, for the 1966 Tall Ships race, which starts from Falmouth on Saturday, July 9, and ends at the Skaw, the headland at the Northermost tip of Denmark a distance of about 800 miles. Ships from at least six countries, Britian, Denmark, France, the Netherlands, Norway and Sweden will be taking part. Photo shows two of the ships in Falmouth Harbour. They are (L to R) Statsraad Lehmkuhl, of Norway and the George Stage of Denmark
