Mar. 03, 1966 - Seagoing Catamaran Sails. Japan's first seagoing cataamaran passenger vessel Sea Palace is shown making her maiden voyage to commence a ferry service from the atom bomb city of Hiroshima on the main island of Honshu with Mareuyama city on the island of Shikoku through the picturesqua Ondo Strait. The air conditioned 400 ton catemaran can accomodate 317 passengers and 15 passenger cars. It also has a helicopter landing deck aft. The circular pavilion on the top deck serves as a dining room, bar, and observation platform for the passengers
