1966 - New Russian Liner Sails into London: Russia's newest luxury liner, the Alexander Pushkin, sailed into London yesterday. The 4 1/2 million ship cocked at Tilbury after her maiden voyage from Leningrad. On board were dozens of waitress and stewardesses, who were handpicked by the ship's owners to make sure tourists get the very best impression of Russian feminine charm. Russia expects to make a first year profit of 350, 000 in the 19, 860-ton, 650-berth liner. Built last year in East Germany, the ship will go on monthly voyages to Quebec and Montreal.
