Sep. 09, 1967 - A giant Hovercraft nears completion.: Four 165-ton Sr. N4 hovercraft, a fast passenger/car ferry designed for operations on open-sea ferry routes, are in various stages of production at ferry routes, are in various stages of production at British Hovercraft Corporations works at Cowes, Isle of Wight, One of them is nearing completion. In cal weather it can carry a disposable load of 63.5 tons at maximum cruising speed of 70 knots over distances of up to 175 n. miles on 10 tons of fuel.
