Jan. 01, 1967 - British Submarine Runs Aground Off The Isle Of Wight: The submarine Alliance, 1, 120-tons, ran aground on the ebbing tide last night on Bembridge Ledge, a rock shelf 300 yards off Foreland, Isle of Wight.
