Jul. 07, 1968 - The Replica schooner America Arrives at Cowes after 3.000-mile crossing from Bermuda. The replica schooner America, 170-tons, with 120-foot main and top mast, sailed into Cowes, Isle of Wight, yesterday, thus completing the end of a 3, 000 mile voyage from Bermuda accomplished in 14 days. It is unique in the history of yachting that America is paying a goodwill visit to Cowes to commemorate the original America's victory in the America's Cup in 1851.
