May 13, 1968 - The atlantic challenger from the back garden. On the River Itchen near Southampton yesterday went the 31fdt. trimaran Genesis, Mr. Lauris Osborne's home-made for the single-handed transatlantic race which starts from Plymouth in June 1st. Mr. Osbourne ha worked 18 hours a day over a year to build his 1300 sloop-rigged craft Friends and neighbors helped with the construction in his back garden in Southampton.
