Jul. 22, 1967 - Stranded Car Ship Freed In Guernsey: The Philippine cargo ship President Garcia which was aground for a week, was successfully towed off the rocks at Saint's Bay, Guernsey by three Dutch tugs on Thursday evening. The tugs, two at sea and one alongside, took an hour to slowly shift the ship. Scores of holidaymakers watched the operation and cheered the crew as the ship was pulled off.
