Boats - Sailing - Ships

May 05, 1969 - Young Pole Leaps From Liner. A young Pole, dressed only in his underwear, leapt from the Polish liner Batory, which was sailing along the Danish coast. His leap was observed from the Danish ferry sailing between Elsinore, Denmark, and Halsingborg, Sweden, which immediately sent a rubber dinghy to his rescue. The Polish liner sent a motor boat at the same time to take him back to the liner - but the motor broke down. The young Pole is now safe in Denmark. Photo Shows:- The Danish ferry is not very far from the young Pole (seen in water, arrowed), and the rubber dinghy is on its way to pick him up
