Nov. 11, 1965 - Testing the unsinkable Dory: Eight employees of a boat-building firm of Chichester, Sussex, and two models hired for the day yesterday tested the unsinkable qualities of a six seater Dory, named after the flat-bottomed boats of Newfoundland on Bedfont lake, Middlesex. The ten people on board rocked the boat to fill it with water to prove that it wouldn't sink and it didn't. It did however, capsize, and the people aboard had to swim ashore. Mr. Edge the managing director of the shipbuilding firm looked at the £300 Dory, designed as a yacht tender or water-skiing vessel and built with a double skin of fibre glass, and said ofcourse she will capsize if so many people clamber aboard and rock her, he said.
