Sep. 09, 1966 - German Submarine Hai Sunken: During a storm the German submarine Hai is sunken yesterday (14.9.66) with 21 soldiers on board about 140 Sm to the northwest Helogoland. One of the soldiers was saved on September 15th by an English Ship after he swam 13 hours with a life jacket in the stormy North Sea. The other 20 marines have lost their life in all probability. In the salvage operations take part English, Danish, Dutch and German Ships. under the leading of the German destroyer Bayern'.
